Word of advice – Check your Twitter Connections

Yesterday I posted on a Twitter about a little known Twitter settings page I think everyone using the service should be aware of.

Hopefully, more people will read this post than that ephemeral tweet because there is a security/privacy issue at hand here.

If you log on to Twitter.com and then click on “Settings” (top right of the screen) and then “Connections” you might be in for a surprise. All of the apps you have ever allowed access to your account (whether you remember you did or not) will show on this page:

So my word of advice is: go over the list and make sure you only leave those applications you recognize and trust!

You can always re-add an application so no need to worry about removing a connection you’ll need.
